When life seems overwhelming

In the culture we live in today, it’s important to find a way to keep our eyes on Jesus. It might seem impossible, but I want to encourage you to stay focused on the Lord. We live in a world filled with suffering. It could be the loss of a job, the death of a loved one, a diagnosis that turns your world upside down, or relationships that end. Suffering can take many forms.

Perhaps you're experiencing some form of suffering as well. No matter what you’re going through, God is with you in it. It may feel like you’re alone or that what you’re facing is unique to you, but I’m writing to encourage you. I want to remind you that, no matter how things look, God has a purpose in it. In your natural mind, you might not be able to understand why you're suffering. You might feel like it will never end. But I want to encourage you that this is temporary. The suffering you're facing won’t last forever.

You might be thinking, "What if it does last forever?" My response would be: even if it does, God still has a purpose for your suffering. Can we only accept the good things from God? Are we not supposed to embrace the challenges He allows in our lives as well?

When we face challenges, it’s an opportunity to activate our faith. It doesn’t mean we won’t cry or feel down because of our suffering. But it does mean we need to read God’s Word, repeat Scripture when times get tough, and stay in prayer. We must believe that God will help us. You have to believe with all your heart that God will see you through whatever you're dealing with.

I know that when we're in the midst of our struggles, it feels unbearable, and it may seem like it will never end. But please let me encourage you: God sees you. He has not forgotten you. He is not ignoring you, and He has not left you to face this alone. He is with you in the fire! We must trust that God knows what He’s doing, even when we can’t see it. Your faith in God will carry you through this moment.
